Choral society begins season tonight

The Greenville Choral Society will begin its 40th anniversary season at 7 p.m. today at Peace Presbyterian Church, 301 Guiness Drive, Winterville.

A program of German songs by Brahms, Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn will be performed by the Concert Choir, and the Chamber Chorale will present selections by John Rutter, Mark Hayes, David Childs and Kenneth Jennings. Relay For Life team meeting set for Monday

Relay For Life of Pitt County will hold a team meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at St. James United Methodist Church. Team captains, relay participants and interested community members may attend. The 2010 Relay For Life of Pitt County will be held on April 23 at South Central High School. Kiwanis Christmas auction to benefit children

The Greater Greenville Kiwanis Club will host its annual Christmas Auction at 6 p.m. Friday at Rock Springs Center. Proceeds will benefit local children's charities. Tickets are $35 each. Contact Lauren Asby at 526-1168 to purchase tickets by Monday.

FCA to hold fundraising banquet Tuesday

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Eastern North Carolina will hold its fall fundraising banquet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. James Methodist Church Family Life Center. Brain Trust group to meet Wednesday

The Brain Trust, a group for those with malignant or benign brain tumors, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge. Dr. Cynthia Ballenger from 21st Century Oncology/Carolina Radiation Medicine PA, will speak. For more information, call 847-2611.

East Carolina Camera Club to meet Thursday

The East Carolina Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Senior Center on County Home Road. Charity Valentine, who teaches digital photography at Pitt Community College, will speak.

Kiwanis pancake dinner to benefit Girl Scouts

The Winterville Kiwanis Club will host a pancake dinner to benefit the Girls Scouts from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday at the Kiwanis Building on Forlines Road. The cost will be $5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage. Tickets may be purchased at North Carolina Driving School in Winterville or by calling 321-6700 or Pam Riggs at 561-6395.

Benefit garage sale planned

The annual Unnatural Resources Institute and Fair Garage Sale is planned from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Pitt County Agricultural Center. Setup is from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
