Senior dance
The Washington Senior Harvest Dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. Thursday in the Washington Civic Center, 110 Gladden St. in downtown Washington, N.C.
The dance will feature live music by the Modern Knights Band, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes.
The dance is for seniors and couples over age 50. No children, no alcohol and no smoking allowed.

Music Academy gala
The Music Academy of Eastern Carolina will hold its annual gala, "Eat Drink & Be Merry," Sept. 26 at Rock Springs Center.
The Gala will feature musicians from the Music Academy, a tasting of North Carolina wines and beers, a silent auction and dinner. Gala chairwoman is Louise Toppin.
The Music Academy of Eastern Carolina, a nonprofit community music school, is located at 1400 Red Banks Road in Greenville.
Tickets are $60 per person.

Chef's Auction
The 15th annual March of Dimes Chefs Auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Greenville Convention Center, 303 S.W. Greenville Blvd. Presenting sponsor is N.C. Land Partners.
The fundraiser, the top-grossing March of Dimes Chefs Auction in the state, features sampling of food donated by area restaurants and silent and live auctions. Host Chefs are Kevin Brighton and Mike Santos of Greenville's Chefs 505 and Morehead City's Chefs 105.
Event coordinator is Kristen Bond.
