City Goverment
Greenville operates under the council-manager form of government. Elections are held every other November (in odd years) for mayor and six City Council members. Elections are non-partisan. Candidates run for office under a system electing five district representatives, one at-large member and the mayor at-large.
The council's regular meetings are at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, at 6 p.m. on the Monday before the second Thursday, and at 6 p.m. on the second Monday following the Thursday meeting. Meetings are held in the third floor chambers at City Hall every month except July.
City Hall is located at 201 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, at the Washington Street intersection. The Public Information Office can be reached at 329-4434.
