Commissioners are elected by districts to serve four-year terms. The elections are staggered. Commissioners typically meet at 9 a.m. the first Monday and 6 p.m. the second Monday of the month. The meetings are held in the second-floor commissioners' auditorium of the Pitt County Office Building, 1717 W. Fifth St. Commissioners also hold a preagenda meeting at 4:15 p.m. the Thursday before their meeting. That meeting is held in the administrative conference room.

Commissioners noted with a * will be replaced by the winners of the November 2006 election.
