Greenville Fire-Rescue

The city's six fire-rescue stations provide fire protection, fire-prevention and emergency medical services within the city limits. Personnel are certified emergency medical technicians. Fire-prevention captains make annual inspections of all commercial buildings in the city and the extraterritorial jurisdiction. There are currently 140 firefighters/EMTs working at the city's six stations.

• Life Safety Services: Contact 329-4408. Fire education programs are presented to groups or organizations by request.
• Home and chimney inspections: 329-4390. To help prevent fires, the department offers free inspections to city residents.
• Smoke detector program: 329-4390. The department has a program called Code Red Detection Control to install smoke-detection devices in homes of low-income residents within the city.
