CITY BUSES
The Greenville Area Transit system, or GREAT, provides bus service for the city of Greenville from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. There is no service on Sunday or certain city holidays. The main transfer point for all routes is at Third and Reade streets.

PATS buses are lined up outside of the Greenville Aquatics and Fitness Center.
 

• Route 1: Serves Public Works, Kearney Park, K-Mart, Colonial Mall, Red Banks Road and Arlington Boulevard, South Park, Target, 10th and Evans streets, C.M. Eppes Middle School, Peppermint Park, Cherry Court Apartments and Cypress Gardens Apartments.

• Route 2: Serves Moyewood, ECU's Brody School of Medicine, Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Stanton Square, Spring Forest Road, Physician's East, Viquest, Green Pointe Apartments, Dubber-Laney, ARC, County Office Building and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

• Route 3: Serves Sheppard Memorial Library, Piggly Wiggly, Arlington Boulevard and Hooker Road, Wal-Mart, Employment Security Commission, Greenville Grande, Tobacco Road, Carolina East Mall, Pitt Community College, Wal-Mart and Dickinson Avenue.

• Route 4: Serves Greene and Dudley streets, Flora Mobile Home Park, Pitt County Office Park, Westwood Mobile Home Park, Food Lion, Hop Tyson Road, Memorial Drive and Third Street, W.H. Smith Boulevard, Piggly Wiggly, Myrtle and Manhattan Avenues, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Sheppard Memorial Library and Greenville Utilities.

• Fares: Regular rate is $1. Transfers are free. Multi-ride passes are available. Each paying adult may bring two children under 44 inches for a free ride. Those 65 and older and disabled passengers may ride for 50 cents. A Medicare card is sufficient documentation for GREAT's half-price fare.

Reduced fare identification cards are available at a cost of $3. Call 329-4532. All GREAT buses feature bicycle racks through the bus system's "Bike to Bus" program.

All buses are equipped with lifts and have space for two wheelchair riders. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit service is provided in the GREAT service area when curb-to-curb transportation is required because of disability. Applications for this service, as well as additional information, may be obtained by calling 329-4532.

OTHER BUSES
• Carolina Trailways and Greyhound, provide scheduled intercity bus service to the Greenville terminal located at 310 W. Fifth St., 752-3483.

• East Carolina University Student Transit Authority (ECUSTA) provides transit service to ECU students, faculty and staff. Free service is provided to, from and around the ECU campus, off-campus housing areas and several shopping areas. A valid ECU One Card is needed to ride. PITT AREA TRANSIT SYSTEM
PATS provides transportation services for rural residents of Pitt County and human service agency clients. Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The following agencies provide licenses and plates for Pitt County motorists:

• N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles, Driver License Section: Issues and renews North Carolina driver licenses; 3400 S. Memorial Drive, Suite 10, Carolina East Centre; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays, 830-3456 or 830-3457; Municipal Building, North Horne St. Farmville, mobile unit, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. forth Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the forth Friday of the month, 753-3987.
