Pitt County government wants to freshen its image and is looking for citizen help.
Pitt County launched a flag redesign contest Wednesday and is soliciting entries from all citizens, young and old, amateurs and professionals.
The existing county flag was adopted Oct. 2, 2000. It has blue and white fields divided by a yellow line. The county seal is in the upper right-hand of the blue field, which also has a rising sun design. The words Pitt County North Carolina are in the lower white field.

Is it
a city flag as stated in the headline or a county flag as stated in the article? There is a difference.....................
Dear IS IT...
Hi! The Contest is for the County flag only. It's open to the general public, and participants must incorporate the current County seal and/or logo into their designs. You can find more information at www.pittcountync.gov. Thanks for reading the article and I hope you will participate; if you're not a designer yourself, help us spread the word! Have a great day!
