The Greenville City Council on Monday said it will wait for additional options to be presented and invite the public to comment before making a decision on how to manage what the Public Works Department said is a necessary conversion to complete curbside sanitation service for city homes.
The conversion would not affect disabled customers who cannot bring their roll-out carts to the front curb and have no family members to assist, Public Works Director Wes Anderson said.
The sanitation division services about 17,500 single-family homes. Of those, 5,450 receive backyard pickup service.
