Pitt County commissioners will review factors that will affect the creation of the 2012-13 fiscal year budget during a special meeting scheduled today.

“We want them to give us their thoughts, their philosophy on the 2012-13 spending budget,” County Manager Scott Elliott said.

The Board of Commissioners is meeting at 2 p.m. in the Pitt County Emergency Operations Center, located in the basement of the county office building, 1717 W. Fifth St. Although a public meeting, the session won’t be televised and public comments won’t be allowed.

We need to keep a sharp eye

We need to keep a sharp eye on the County Commissioners. They need close scrutiny in how they spend our money. A lot of focus lately has been on the City Council, and rightly so, but we all pay county taxes. This group is truly a good ole boy network with too little oversight by the public.

agree

but cannot do it all by myself

need others who care
