North Carolina has been through tough economic times, but Republican attempts to solve those problems have threatened the state’s future, the state lieutenant governor said during a Wednesday campaign appearance.

“When you fix your problem, you can’t damage your future,” Dalton said. “I believe that’s what we’ve done over the last two years.”

Even Renee Ellmers opposes the amendment

Even Tea Party backed Republican Congresswomen Renee Ellmers is against the amendment for many reasons, but doesn't support such marriages. I believe that is the position of Republican state Rep. Glen Bradley too.

My guess is that's true for Dalton too. I certainly haven't heard anything from him beyond that he, and Etheridge, both oppose the amendment.

Where does he stand on

Where does he stand on homosexual marriage. I read that he is opposed to the marriage amendment but that does not tell us how he stands. Does he believe marriage is between "a man and a woman" or between "a man and whatever?"
