A state report released Thursday shows the number of dropouts in Pitt County Schools had decreased significantly for the second year.
The 2010‐11 Consolidated Report presented to the State Board of Education shows the number of students dropping out of Pitt County Schools decreased by 11.9 percent, making a 37 percent reduction in the last two years.
At the same time, the number of short‐term suspensions also decreased for the district, according to a news release from Pitt County Schools.
