BOLIVIA — Brunswick County will be the site for East Carolina University’s eighth dental community service learning center, officials announced Friday.

The School of Dental Medicine at ECU plans to open eight to 10 centers in underserved areas across the state. Four centers (Ahoskie, Elizabeth City, Lillington and Sylva) are in operation, and three more (Spruce Pine, Davidson County and Robeson County) are under construction. The facilities combine clinical education and patient care.

Any member of the community — including Medicaid patients — can receive dental care at the centers.
