East Carolina University on Wedensday presented a final draft of long range development plan for its campuses, renewing concerns over parking and preserving historical buildings.

The placement of parking decks and the fate of Christenbury Gym, which is set to be replaced with a biosciences building, generated the most discussion at a forum held in the Croatan dining hall.

Think before tearing down....

I'm writing in support of my friend Mike Bunting's position opposing the destruction of Christenbury Gym on ECU campus.I know all the arguments but I heard them all years ago when Old Austin was destroyed. Only later did we learn it really did not have to be torn down.Old Austin was the heart and soul of the original campus and its gone forever.Such a landmark structure would never be destroyed at UNC at Chapel Hill.
Save Christenbury.
