For 50 ECU employees, work time also will be exercise time this summer.

They will be pedaling under their desks, helping to research ways to offset the effects of sedentary work.

The Pedal@Work project, in part funded by an award to Dr. Lucas Carr, assistant professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science, College of Health and Human Performance, will test whether intermittent physical activity reduces individual risk for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Lack of exercise at work

Because I often have cold feet, I always thought that would be a solution. MOVEMENT in the workplace would be very helpful. I also hope this approach prevails in all companies.
One must also learn to stand up from his desk chair. When making calls or read letters back and forth or not to call their colleagues or send an e-mail, but personally go by. This not only strengthens team spirit, but also health.
