Three incumbent mayors facing challengers were returned to office by voters in Pitt County’s smaller municipalities, according to Tuesday’s unofficial election results.

Ayden Mayor Steve Tripp defeated challenger Phyllis P. Ross 619 to 301 votes.

In Farmville, incumbent Mayor Robert L. “Bobby” Evans defeated Bert Smith 656 to 579 votes.
