Eppes rec center gets upgrade

A sacred space to some in Greenville finally is getting a second life.

The Charles Montgomery Eppes Recreation Center had its grand re-opening on Tuesday after a series of upgrades including 135 gallons of new paint on the walls, a resurfaced basketball court, remodeled bathrooms and disability access points and renovated weight, game and multi-purpose rooms.


Jimmye Jones, a 1957 graduate of C.M. Eppes High School, explained some of the history of the center.
