Deputies in Pitt and Craven counties are searching for a 15-year-old girl who reportedly left her Winterville home Sunday and did not return, her sister said.
Hannah Elizabeth Lane was last seen at 11 p.m. Sunday wearing jeans and a black nylon jacket with black and white hi-top canvas sneakers. She is described as 5 feet tall, 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
Family members contacted authorities and requested help in returning Lane home, according to her older sister, Bethany Lucia. Lane takes medication for migraines and learning disabilities, but does not have a serious medical condition, according to her older sister.
She is a student at Chicod Middle School, believed to be with her 16-year-old boyfriend somewhere near his home in Craven County, possibly in the Vanceboro area, based on information from his family, Lucia said. Leads received later on Tuesday indicated the pair might have headed south into Onslow County, she said.
“We don’t want to create any more trouble for Hannah and the boy; we just want her to be OK and come home,” Lucia said.
Anyone with information about Lane’s whereabouts can contact the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office at (252) 902-2800 or the Craven County Sheriff’s Department at 636-6620.
