The first day of filing for local municipal elections brought out four incumbents and a challenger who are running in Winterville and Grifton, the Pitt County Board of Elections reported Friday.

J.T. Crawford, Tony Moore and Veronica Roberson, the three Winterville incumbents, filed along with challenger Ronald Cooper Sr.

Ardathy “Date” Spikes, a Grifton incumbent, also filed for re-election.
