A fourth candidate has joined the race for a retiring district court judge’s seat.
Lisa Woodard Overton, Pitt County’s assistant county attorney, announced her candidacy for the seat being vacated by Judge Charles Vincent. Also seeking the seat are Pitt County Assistant District Attorneys Brian DeSoto and Faris Dixon and attorney Warner Wells.
“I am running for district court judge because I feel it is my civic duty to serve my community in a socially responsible manner,” Overton said. “I plan to ensure that cases are decided based on merit and the applicable law as opposed to political ideology, courthouse connections, or the power of the people involved.”

doesn't deserve anybody's vote to be a judge, PERIOD!
And that applies to any man belonging to the NC Association of Men Attorneys

It would be nice if folks would stop making the above comments when an article is written about a person of color.It shows how much we have regressed as a society. We can do better.
