An organization promoting science and technology in Greenville and eastern North Carolina edged closer this week to moving from its temporary headquarters to a permanent facility housing exhibits and hands-on projects.
The Greenville Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday approved a Community Development Department recommendation to authorize a city lease with GO-Science for the 900-square-foot showroom area of the former Pugh’s Tire Center at 729 Dickinson Ave. The nonprofit organization will pay $1 per year for the space, senior planner Carl Rees said.
Final approval for the lease of the property to GO-Science will rest with the Greenville City Council, Rees said.
