The Greenville City Council voted on Thursday voted to hire assistant city manager Thomas Moton as interm manager until the retiring Wayne Bowers can be replaced.
The council went into closed session at the conclusion of its regular session on Thursday, then issued a press statement that Moton would become interim manager March 1, when Bowers retires.
Bowers announced his retirement at the council’s Jan. 19 planning retreat.
