Greenville’s crime rate was lower than all but three of the state’s 15 largest cities, according to statistics released Thursday by the attorney general.

The statewide Uniform Crime Report showed a decrease in crime statewide, including the 17-percent drop reported in January by the Greenville Police Department.

That drop gave the city the 12th lowest crime rate among the 15 largest municipalities. Greenville was ninth among the largest cities in 2010. Click here for the Department of Justice report.

check Milwaukee to see how the numbers are manipulated

These are iInternally generated numbers that can easily be manipulated between category 1 and 2 crimes.

The city of Milwaukee has a major story going on how these numbers are manipulated by police departments

With no audit being done, there is no way to determine if these numbers are factual or not

The reflector, in typical fashion, merely prints the press release

Let's wait for the editorial using the article as its research piece

And the nonsense continues

Agree so read this regarding stats

False, false, and false DR must think citizens are totally out of touch and dummies. Here is quote from a post on WITN:

"Wannabe thugs mature into violent criminals as community is lulled into false sense of security by manipulative reporting of statistics by local Government and media."

WITN does post more info but.. we all need to be selective in what we believe from the media. Crime down in Greenville (Ghetto Vegas), and I am to feel safe? Don't think so as working in downtown NYC and feel safer there walking after dark, and will not even go to grocery store after dark here in Gville.

??

Sounds like either fishy UCR reporting or a change in how and what is reported. There is no way crime is lower in Greenville.
