While most seniors are counting down the days until graduation, some already are done with high school.

Pitt County Schools had about 150 students graduate a semester early this year out of a total of about 1,500 seniors at the six public high schools.

Students graduate early for several reasons, including going to work, community college, military or just taking a break. Since there isn’t a separate ceremony for those who complete all their credits early, they usually come back to participate in spring commencement.
