A 41-year-old Parmele man was charged with impaired driving after a wreck that injured him and three passengers about 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The wreck occurred on U.S. 64 Alt. about 2.5 miles west of Bethel, according to the State Highway Patrol. One person was ejected from the vehicle and all four were transported to Vidant Medical Center. EastCare assisted in the transport.

Alton Lee Bell Jr., was driving a 2009 Chevrolet east on the highway at 90 mph, according the Highway Patrol crash report. The vehicle entered a curve, went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
