The president of the Pitt County NAACP branch is joining the organization's state leaders in opposing a congressional redistricting plan released by the General Assembly last week.
The NAACP will be heavily represented during today's public hearings on the map, said Calvin Henderson.
The hearing is scheduled to take place via video conference from 3-9 p.m. at nine locations across the state.

What I meant was the last man “who had a dream” saw all of his work go down the drain with the actions of people today. It wasn’t just his dream…it was and still is the dream of many people. With close minded individuals in power there will never be any light at the end of the tunnel. This group is only for one cause. Not “everyone” as they claim to be.
