U.S. Sen Richard Burr

Burr is North Carolina's senior senator, elected in 2004. A Republican from Winston Salem, he was elected in 2004 to fill the seat vacated by John Edwards. He served in the U.S. House from 1994 to 2004. He serves as ranking nember of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee and sits on the Armed Services and Intelligence committees, among others.

U.S. Sen Kay Hagan

Hagan is North Carolina's junior senator, a Democrat from Greensboro. She was elected in 2008, defeating Republican incumbent Elizabeth Dole to begin her first six-year term. She served in the N.C. Senate prior to election. She sits on the Senate Armed Services and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committees.

U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield

G.K. Butterfield, a Democrat from Wilson, represents the 1st Congressional District, which includes parts of Pitt County. He is in his third full term, after winning a special election in 2004 to fill the unexpired term of Frank Ballance. He serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee and serves on three subcommittees. He was a state judge prior to his election.

U.S. Rep Walter Jones

Walter Jones, a Republican from Farmville, represents the 3rd Congressional District, which includes parts of Pitt County. He is in his eighth two year term, first winning election in 1994. Prior to that, he served 10 years as in the N.C. General Assembly. He is a member of the Armed Services and Financial Services committees.

N.C. Sen Don Davis

A Democrat from Snow Hill, Davis was elected in 2008 to begin his first term representing the 5th Senate District, which includes part of Pitt and all of Greene and Wayne counties. He served as mayor of Snow Hill prior to his election. He is the Vice-Chairman of Agriculture/Environment/Natural Resources and sits on eight other committees.

N.C. Sen Clark Jenkins

A Democrat from Tarboro, Jenkins is an agri-businessman who is serving his third term in the Senate. His district encompasses part of Pitt and all of Edgecombe and Martin counties. He is the Vice-Chairman of Transportation, Co-Chairman of Finance and sits on five other committees.

N.C. Rep Marian McLawhorn

A retired educator, McLawhorn is a Democrat from Grifton serving her fifth term in the 9th District, which encompasses southern Pitt County. She is the Chairman of Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Vice-Chairman of Appropriations, Vice-Chairman of Education Subcommittee on Community Colleges and sits on seven other committees.

N.C. Rep Edith Warren

A Democrat from Pitt County, the retired educator is serving her fifth term. Her district encompasses part of Pitt and all of Martin counties. She is the Chairman of Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural and Economic Resources, Vice-Chairman of Appropriations, Vice-Chairman of Education Subcommittee on Pre-School, Elementary and Secondary Education and sits on six other committees.

N.C. Rep. Arthur Williams

A Beaufort County resident, Williams is retired businessman serving his fourth term in the 6th District which includes all of Beaufort and part of Pitt counties. He is the Chairman of Wildlife Resources, Vice-Chairman of Transportation, Marine Resources and Aquaculture, Financial Institutions and Agriculture and sits on three other committees.
