Greenville’s outgoing police chief took time this week to reflect on his challenges, accomplishments and disappointments during his six-year tenure before heading to fill a similar position in Asheville.

Chief William Anderson has been praised and criticized for his approach to law enforcement. He faced some of the most urgent and difficult challenges a city can present, including spikes in homicides and other violent crimes; safety issues concerning the East Carolina University student population; rashes of car, home and business break-ins and robberies; youth crime and gang violence; and self-directed policy changes that required a new way for city residents and police officers to approach their relationships with each other.

Anderson came to the city in 2005 with three goals, he said, based on personal research and conversations he had with people in the community.

now he does love himself

totally incompetent

The "Praise myself" article

I have read the entire article and I have to say..what a bunch of garbage and self-praise for this guy! He has a lot of nerve to even participate in this article.

Working at the PD I have seen Anderson in 'action'. He has destroyed your PD folks..And I love the lies he says especially how he brought our community together and how crime is lower than when he got here.

This article oozes of Anderson self-centerness..He talks all about his greatness and how he wants to move to Asheville because of his family,,omg, is this guy a candidate for the Presidency?? Another lie.

Everyone should read this article and can see how gratefull we all are he is leaving..

sounds like vietnam pullout

“The first goal, of course, was to reduce crime in the city,” he said. “I think we’ve been successful at that"

USA declares victory in Vietnam and retreats

ya right
