Mayor Pat Dunn joined about 200 residents, government officials, visiting police officers and members of the Greenville Police Department on Tuesday afternoon to cut a ribbon and celebrate the opening of the new police substation on W. Fifth Street.

Official: Arson not suspected
Worship services set in Greenville

The cause of a fire that burned a Pitt County church remained undetermined Tuesday, but investigators do not believe arson is involved, the emergency service chief said.

Winterville targets drug activity

The Winterville Police Department is taking a proactive approach to fighting drugs.

The department established a Narcotic Interdiction Criminal Enforcement (NICE) Unit to investigate drug activity in Pitt County's second-largest municipality.
