Greenville police officers are investigating a report that someone stole $198 in cash and a television valued at $500 from the Brook Valley Country Club on Thursday or Friday. Investigators believe the thief knew the location of the cash, they said.
Assaults reported
Greenville police responded to a report that someone assaulted a 50-year-old man at 12:01 a.m. Thursday at his home in the 100 block of Luci Drive, resulting in minor injuries. Officers did not provide a description of the assailant or what weapon was used.
Officers investigated a report that a 29-year-old woman was assaulted at 2:45 p.m. Thursday at her home on Spring Forest Road. The officers did not include a description of the suspect or report any injuries.
Officers responded to a 2:50 p.m. report that a 40-year-old man was assaulted by someone at the Trade Mart store at 3202 E. 10th St. A copy of The Daily Reflector was taken, then recovered, the officers said.
Tires stolen
Police responded to a report that someone climbed through a roof of a building in the 400 block of North Greene Street sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday and stole four Bridgestone sport tires valued at $1,000.
Gun, electronics stolen
Someone reportedly forced open a rear door of a 42-year-old man's home sometime Thursday or Friday in the 3000 block of Golden Road and stole a .380 caliber Davis handgun valued at $100, a video game console valued at $200, and a laptop valued at $650.
Car electronics stolen
Someone reportedly broke a passenger window of a couple's car in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday and stole a DVD player valued at $500.
Money stolen
Officers responded to a report that someone forced open a rear ground-story window of a 63-year-old man's home between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday and stole $800 cash.
Computer stolen
Officers investigated a report that someone kicked open a rear door of a 24-year-old woman's home sometime late Thursday or early Friday and stole a laptop valued at $800.
