The Greater Greenville Community Foundation recently recognized a local physician for her philanthropy and service.

Dr. Mary Raab received the foundation’s Legacy Award on Dec. 1 at the Rock Springs Center for her contributions and achievements in Greenville, Pitt County and eastern North Carolina.

“This was such an extraordinary year for us because Mary Raab has without a doubt touched thousands of lives with her strong passion for people, family and every cancer patient she has ever treated in her lifelong career,” Melissa Spain, chief executive officer of the foundation, said. “It was one of the greatest joys of my career to have the honor of interviewing many of Mary’s family members, as well as her medical associates from both Vidant Health and the East Carolina University School of Medicine.”
