The Pitt County Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a seat left vacant by the death of one of its members, district officials announced Wednesday.
The board is looking for candidates who want to be considered for appointment to District 1 Seat A, left open by the death of Matthew Ward on Jan. 15.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 27. Applications will consist of a résumé and a letter of intent stating why the applicant wants to serve on the Board of Education.
