Cases against a former ECU student charged with killing a U.S. Army paratrooper and the driver in a wreck that killed one person and injured three were continued to later dates in Superior Court today.

Christopher William Brauer, 21, accused of stabbing Pfc. Keyonn Parkin, 19, a soldier from Wichita, Kan., during a Halloween party at Pirates Place apartments, made his first appearance in Pitt County Superior Court today. His case was continued, and he will next appear at a murder status hearing at the Pitt County Detention Center on June 5.

Omar Solamen Chahid, 19, facing charges stemming from a fatal wreck on Fifth Street in March, also appeared in Superior Court today. His attorney requested the case be continued to April 5 for negotiation purposes.
