Rep. Edith D. Warren will not seek an eighth term in the state House of Representatives, she announced Tuesday.
Warren, a Democrat from Farmville, has represented the 8th District since 1998. The district included Martin County and part of Pitt County but was dramatically altered during last year’s redistricting process.
“After a lot of careful thought and consideration I am going to retire,” Warren said.
