Greenville police arrested a Havelock man early Sunday on charges he ran over a friend with his car and assaulted witnesses who tried to help her.

The incident occurred about 2:45 a.m. outside 218 Stancil Drive, according to a Greenville Police Department news release.

A 26-year-old woman told police Jesse Tucker had fought with her and ran over her with his car, injuring her legs. She was transported to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.
