A man was shot on the street near Grimesland early Saturday morning by a stranger with a gun, according to a report from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.

Darrius Jaquan Lynch, 22, of Belvoir suffered internal injuries in the 2:30 a.m. shooting that involved another man and a juvenile, according to the report. The incident occurred on the street at 4737 Maria Court, the report indicated. No other details about the incident were released by the sheriff's office. Information on Lynch's condition was not available from Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The report indicated deputies are investigating the incident.
