Ruby Arnold Boyd turned 100 on Sept. 9, 2011. She was honored by her family and many friends on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Hollywood Presbyterian Church on 43S with a floating party. She enjoyed every minute speaking with family and friends. She was “Queen” of the day.
“Miss” Ruby was born in Pitt County to Jimmy and Betty Arnold and married Zonnie Boyd in 1933 (deceased in 1973). She has two daughters, Zula Rouse and Durleen Lindsey, one son, the late Zeb Boyd, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Boyd; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She reminds her family and visitors that her Mom always told her, “go ahead honey, work will not kill you but cause you to live longer.” She loves her church and having visitors.
Happy 100th Birthday
