Megan Alicia Gajewski and Richard Paul Barnhill were united in marriage on April 12, 2013, at 6 p.m. at The Octagonal Garden at Middleton Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. The Rev. Dr. Paul Lang conducted the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Portia Gajewski of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester Gajewski of Charleston, South Carolina, Mrs. Clara Harris of Asheville and the late Mr. Porter Harris. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard and Ann Barnhill of Greenville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Taylor Barnhill of Stokes, Mrs. Lois Heffelfinger of Pine Knoll Shores and the late Dr. Carl Heffelfinger.
The bride was attended by Katherine Gajewski, sister of the bride of Myrtle Beach, SC and Maid of Honor, and Amy Barnhill Smith, sister of the groom of Greenville and Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Favour of New York, NY, Megan Freismuth of Brooklyn, NY, Tara McQuistion of New York, NY and Amy Scheck of Hackensack, NJ. The readings were given by Allison Ziegler of Washington, DC and Patricia Ross of Washington, DC.
John Richard Barnhill served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Phillip Gajewski, brother of the bride of Myrtle Beach, Blake Smith of Greenville, Kevin Garrett of Silver Spring, MD, Jason Baum of Washington, DC, and Matthew Brewer of Apex.
The bride received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Political Science from Clemson University and a Juris Doctor degree from American University, Washington College of Law. She is an associate at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP in Washington, DC.
The groom graduated from DH Conley High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from North Carolina State University and a Master of Arts degree in Geography from East Carolina University. He is a Meteorological Software Tester for Raytheon in Silver Spring, MD.
Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple has made their home in Washington, DC.
