Nichole Allen Parrish and Christopher Lee Roberson, both of Greenville, were united in marriage on Sept. 24, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at Yankee Hall Plantation in Greenville. Pastor Patrick Harrison of Belhaven officiated the ceremony. A bouquet, mother’s last kiss, and cord braiding ceremonies were also a part of the service. Dinner, drinks, and dancing were enjoyed after the wedding in the Plantation‘s restored Farm House and Ball Room.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Ben Parrish Sr. of Pikeville, and Mrs. Sonya and Mr. Danny Gurganus of Williamston.
The groom is the son of Ms. Gail Roberts of Winterville, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Roberson of Williamston.
The bride was presented to her groom by her father, Mr. Ben Parrish Sr. She wore a white, floor length David’s Bridal gown with short train and beaded bodice detail. She also wore a bird’s cage style veil with a Swarovski crystal hair clip. She carried a bouquet of white and orange roses.
Scott Nicholson, friend of the bride, served as Man of Honor. The bridesmaids were Danielle Bullock, Charlene Harris, Courtney Harris, and Sharon Stalls, all friends of the bride.
Jerome Roberson, groom’s father, served as the best man. The groomsman were Michael Roberson, brother of the groom, Dee Eubanks, Bryan Shackleford, and David Lilley, all friends of the groom. Emma Claiborne and Jaylen Gurganus were the flower girl and ring bearer, niece and nephew of the bride.
The guest attendants were Jennifer Lilley, cousin of the groom, and Joanna Vann, friend of the bride. The ushers were Jesse Gurganus III and Ben Parrish Jr., both brothers of the bride.
The wedding was directed by Barbara Ward of Washington, N.C. Music during the reception was provided by Ashley Peed with AP Entertainment of Williamston. Photography was arranged by Bryan Bankston with Unrestrained Focus of Greenville.
A bridal shower was hosted by the bride’s mother, Sonya Gurganus, on July 16, 2011. A wedding shower was hosted by the groom’s grandmother, Mary-Alice Roberson, and cousin, Jennifer Lilley, on August 14, 2011. The rehearsal dinner was provided by the groom’s mother, Gail Roberts, on the eve of the wedding.
After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the newly wed couple will reside in their home in Greenville, with their beloved pets: Stussy, Bandit, and Bella.
