Tracy Myers Wilkerson and Sean Edward Gough were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, Greenville. The Rev. Doctor H. Sidney Huggins III officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Sherwood Wilkerson (Dean and Jackie) of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis Dawson (Jack and Margaret) of Greenville, who were escorted by their grandsons, Lee Sherwood Wilkerson, brother of the bride, and Jeffrey Scott Aldridge, cousin of the bride. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Wilbur Wilkerson of Greenville.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Edward Gough (Jack and Sallie) of Greenville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haywood Bateman of Washington, N.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Gough of New York, N.Y. and Raleigh.
Maid of honor was Cate Maureen Graziani, friend of bride since middle school, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Greenville. Bridesmaid was Erin Elizabeth Gough, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Chloe Elizabeth Anders, cousin of the bride and Kaitlyn Grace Warren, friend of the bride and groom.
Best man was Dr. John Edward Gough (Jack), father of the groom. Groomsmen were Joseph Sinon Gough and Stephen Patrick Gough, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Michael Thomas Gough and Jeffery Charles Gough, brothers of the groom and Matthew Scott Ferrell and Joshua Dawson Ferrell, cousins of the bride. Ring bearer was Jayden Bryant Beaman, cousin of the bride.
The pillow carried by the ring bearer was made for the bride when she was an infant to be used then and on her wedding day by her great-grandmother, the late Thelma Hall Whitfield of Kinston.
Wedding program attendants were Molly Catherine Aldridge and Sara Bryant Ferrell, cousins of the bride. Guest register attendants were Anna Margaret Aldridge and Myers Elizabeth Aldridge, cousins of the bride.
Organ music, chiming of the hour, and carillon music were provided by Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church organist, Steve Cagle.
JMUMC members, Nicki Brown and Jane Brown, directed the wedding and Jim Kelly managed the sound system.
A reception followed at the Greenville Country Club. In addition to the reception food, cheese wafers shaped like flowers were provided and made by the bride’s great-aunt, Mrs. Ed (Jean) Taylor of Kinston. Music at the reception was provided by Masterpiece DJs (Bill and Bill).
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Plum Tree Bistro hosted by the groom’s parents. A wedding shower/cookout honoring the couple and their families was hosted in July by Matt and Debi Holcombe at their home. A barbecue/party honoring the couple was hosted by friends and family in August at the home of Charlie and Barbara Wilkerson. A bridal luncheon was held the day before the wedding at the University Chophouse and was hosted by the bride’s aunts, Patti D. Aldridge, Jimi D. Ferrell, and Judy W. Beaman.
The bride is a graduate of J.H. Rose High School and East Carolina University, with a degree in Recreation and Parks Management.
The groom is a graduate of J.H. Rose High School and East Carolina University, with a degree in Biology.
After a honeymoon to “The Homestead” in Hot Springs, Virginia, the couple have made their home in Greenville.
