With 2007 over, this is the time we want to pause and, well, first of all, thank the good Lord for the many blessings he has sent our way.

Know something? We all are important. We make up the society we live in. Therefore, wouldn't it be great for us to be more active and supportive of those among us in 2008?

Say, for instance, if we hear that someone is facing a problem, let that person know your concern. See, we all are at risk, especially at the present time.

Be considerate in helping, and say, "everything's going to work out for the best," and "I know you will take care of it in the right way." Usually there's three sides to a problem: yours, the other person's and the right way.

May we also resolve in 2008 to lend a helping hand to others when needed. Be considerate to those we meet. More often than not, they'll let you know it's appreciated.

When we see someone doing the right thing, give back praise, not criticism. Every teacher in the schools should praise and be supportive of their students when they do something right. When we do things of this kind, people know you're interested in them. Let us, when speaking and talking to people, be nice and cheerful and don't forget to call them by name. To their ears, it's the sound of sweet music. Don't be frowning, just give a pleasant smile. You'll be glad you did. It's a great asset in life.

Lastly, but not least, be sure to resolve in 2008 to have a good sense of humor, a large dose of patience and throw in a good portion of humility. These three ingredients will be appreciated more than you know.
