Willard Mitt Romney has flip-flopped on every major issue relevant to the current presidential campaign. In Massachusetts, where he served one term as governor, he is more than 20 percentage points behind President Barack Obama in the polls.
This tells me that the vast majority of voters in Massachusetts have no intention of being duped again by the likes of Romney. His term as governor ended nearly six years ago on Jan 4, 2007, and since that time he hasn’t held a job. He has merely lived off of inherited wealth and the vast amount of money he reportedly amassed using unscrupulous business practices. What could make any intelligent voters overlook Romney’s serious character flaws and inadequacies and convince them that he is now qualified and has the work ethic to be president?
A reader of your newspaper who submits frequent letters to the editor is fond of quoting the blather of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh to support her positions, as if they are respected journalists. Beck is a high school graduate, and Limbaugh finished one year of college before dropping out and receiving a deferment from military service at the height of the Vietnam War due to a pilonidal cyst on his hiney. Both have repeatedly made highly inflammatory and racist statements and often present obvious twaddle as truth. In a recent submission by the frequent letter writer, however, she stated that Democrats are stupid.

Pot and the Kettle?
Interesting choice of words to end the opinion letter. If the writer feels so strongly about Mitt Romney flip flopping on issues, then why doesn't he use that logic on the President before casting his vote? Our current President operates on a "you didn't build this" and "socialistic" mentality. To prove this point, lets look at some of the facts. Unemployment, excluding the portion of those officially retired from the workforce, is now at 10%; this is up from 7.8% which was the rate in November 2008. Why would anybody want to work when in a system where it currently benefits people more to sit at home and collect a check? Obama has vowed to improve our educational system: How is putting our children in a caste system requiring 80% of white kids to be at certain reading level and allowing other races to function at a lower perecentage an improvement in education? This certainly is not equality? If you don't believe this is a current proposal in Congress, look at the news and research the issue for yourself. In addition, how is cutting teaching and TA jobs improving our educational efforts? How is cutting medicare, which is already a struggling system, by over $700 billion dollars a year for the next 10 years stabilizing the system? How is allowing a board of non-physicians determine what illnesses get treated or not get treated better for the economy? It sounds like a big HMO plan. Before anyone writes an opinion letter, you need to have facts on more than one side of the issue (i.e: only one political candidate). The question is quite simple: Are you satisfied with the way the country has been ran for the last 4 years? If not, vote differently to change it!!!
And that qualifies Romney?
Adam,
You've used 296 words to attack President Obama and distort much of his record. That's fine, if that's what you believe. However, none of what you've written proves that Romney is qualified to be president. THAT's the point. He simply isn't qualified for the office, based on the fact that he is unable to take a stand on anything and stick with his position. He changes his stance on virtually every issue to pander to whichever audience he's addressing at a given time. Due to his inability to be decisive and stand by what he says, as well as other shortcomings in the area of leadership, he isn't qualified for the office he is seeking, and approximately 70% of the voters in the state where he served one term as governor AGREE. That's a very enlightening and persuasive argument against Mitt Romney's fitness for the office of President of the United States.
Thanks
Mr. Lampros,
Ignore the 'talking heads' because they have no idea what is in store IF Romney/Ryan are elected. We have already tried this experiment in the early to mid 2000's with dire consequences, so why go back 12 years and do all over again?
Besides, which Romney will be President? The 'severely conservative' or the 'moderate centrist'...........who really knows?

Really? How old are you? Tough noogies?!
You must be about 9 or 10.
Thanks for that huge laugh at your expense. LMAO!!!!!!!!!
i used the word noogies
Because the DR would have deleted my comment if I used the word I wanted to use. But I think you know which word I had in mind. And regarding getting a good laugh, I thank liberals like you for a good laugh everytime I read one of your lame letters.
*we might want to listen a
*we might want to listen a little to all the stations--they probably all lie and they all tell the truth.
Well said
It's nice to see someone from Greenville stating the truth for once. Sadly, most people from this mostly republican town cannot take off their blinders to see the truth of the situation, because most of them have lived in Greenville their entire lives and have no idea how the real world works.
Mixed Up?
Mr. Lampros must be confused about the subject in his letter. His letter describes Obama to a tee. There is no way a informed person could justify voting for the Socialist-In-Chief who can't even keep up with his own lies and distortions.
Please do not use the term "flip-flop !"
The new terminology is "evolved."
what about
Andrea Mitchell, Chris Matthews, and Wolf Blitzer? Talk about blather! You think these are credible news people? And you and the left are just mad because you don't have a momopoly any more. Tough noogies, leftist, marxist writer of lies.
