The Girl Scouts of Troop 1746 recently took on a project of collecting used books, CDs and DVDs to be donated to The Magoo Room, a blind cat sanctuary located in Grimesland. These items will be sold on Amazon and eBay to help support the sanctuary. More importantly, the girls learned how sturdy and capable the blind cats are, despite the common misconception that they are special-needs cats.

I was very impressed with the dedication of the girls and their leaders, who also created catnip sock toys for the cats to play with. The girls were generous with their time and talents. Their questions were thoughtful, insightful, and intelligent. Their manner with the cats was kind, considerate, affectionate and careful. Both the cats and the Girl Scouts thoroughly enjoyed their visit together. We can all be very proud to have such lovely young ladies in the community. Thank you, Troop 1746.
