I am a Democrat. For some of you, that troubles you. But I’ve always voted on who I thought was the best for the job.
I have voted for U.S. Rep. Walter Jones ever since I have lived in the Greenville area. He personally intervened in a situation for my family and votes his conscience. While I don’t always agree with him (Freedom fries? Really?), I respect him. Until now.
I recently read an article detailing how Jones appeared on a radio show named “The Political Cesspool” in Memphis, Tenn., which openly aligns itself with white supremacy. According to the article I read, the hosts have referred to African Americans as “heathen savages” and “subhuman” and suggested that slavery was “the greatest thing that ever happened” to blacks.
