Letter: Theft arrests indicate desperation

4 Comments | Leave a Comment

The crime report in Saturday’s paper shows two unfortunate persons who were arrested for an attempted robbery at a local retail store.

The indictment should rather be of the citizens of Greenville for allowing these people to become so desperate for food and baby clothes that they resorted to attempting theft. That they failed in their attempt shows that they were not well versed in the practice.

I hope that somewhere in this affluent, professional, church-going community there is help for these people. Any volunteers?

Greenville

Is full of pissed off people.

Really?????

You have got to be kidding me!!!!!! There is absolutely no reason with all the government entitlements that anyone has to resort to this kind of behavior. Your time in writing this letter would have been better spent taking food to the food pantry or volunteering in a soup kitchen.

Theft arrests indicate OCCUPATION

You must of meant OCCUPATION, Greenville has tons of people receiving WIC for their Babies, Food stamps, and other programs who assist people who are in need. Most thieves are stealing because that what their occupation is, Thievery. Lots of Greenville citizens are good role models by WORKING for a living, attending churches who have programs that attempt to outreach folks.

Hey Jan.......

Why don't you come down out of your 'glass house' in Oriental. The town of well-heeled retirees that want to sit on their high-horse and pass judgement on others.

You wanna run your big mouth....Why don't you set the example!!!!!
