Greenville man arrested in car theft

Pitt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Greenville man Wednesday for an auto theft a day earlier.

Stephon Averill Rogers, 17, 1338 Ellison Court was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

The deputies investigated a report that a 1998 Chevy Cavalier was stolen from the same address.

Rogers was held at the Pitt County Detention Center on $5,000 secured bond.

Bus damaged

A woman kicked a bus door and broke the glass at the Reade Street bus stop at 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 24, according to the ECU police department.

Jamike Michelle Whitsett, 25, of 1149-37A Mulberry Lane, Greenville was arrested and charged with injury to personal property.

Whitsett was held on $1,000 bond at the Pitt County Detention Center.

Home break-in

Greenville police responded to a report that someone pried open a rear ground window of a couple’s home between 7:10 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of Sterling Pointe Drive and stole three video game units valued at $1,065, a television valued at $367, two cameras valued at $572 and video games valued at $500.

just another day in Greenville. Greenville is filled with thugs who have a "give me give me give it's mine" mentality...they think its okay to break into someone else's home & steal whatever they want. Someone better hope they don't try and break into my home while I'm there...

They were cowards and came when no one was home or they would have been in for a rude awakening. They watched the family leave and they were only gone 30 minutes. They were probably still in the house when the family came home and ran out the back. Cowards...
