Beth,
The event was a private organiztion's fundraiser, not a state sponsored event, and I saw absolutely no one who even appeared intoxicated. Many groups and organizations have events where alcohol is served--just because you choose personally to abstain doesn't mean others can't responsibly drink. People drive home from restaurants, weddings, meetings, etc all the time where alcohol is served so please get down from your soapbox.

You're dumb. Eastern North Carolina is as flat as a pancake. At least get your stereotypes correct. We're Rednecks out here - Hillbillies are up in the mountains (duh). You're also too stupid to understand the concept of irony, so I won't explain the G-Vegas thing to you.

I agree with Beth, but she may hate me anyways. Why do all these inbreds look drunk? Why do you hillbillies have so much pride in a "University" that no one has ever heard of? Why do you call your town "G-Vegas" when Las Vegas would laugh and spit on you?

Actually, beer and wine is allowed for events where it is appropriate. Not everyone was drinking a beer!

It's because these are responsible adults and just because you have a drink or two doesn't mean you are too drunk to drive. Grow up and understand some adults can make decisions for themselves and they don't need you telling them what to do. Actually, most people detest being told what to do.

Key word: Responsible Adults

What about no alcoholic beverages on state properties? Looked like many beer bottles were in the hands of the people in the pictures. Did they drive when they left the event? Probably so. What a farce. Suppose one of those drinkers had killed someone while coming from a state sponsored event. Why does alcohol have to present for some of have a good time?
