Kinston’s Reggie Bullock scored 26 points in 27 minutes of playing time to lead the Vikings past Northwood, 66-43, in the 2-A boys’ basketball Eastern Regional semifinals Friday at East Carolina’s Minges Coliseum

Bullock, a North Carolina signee, also pulled down eight rebounds, helping Kinston (26-4) enjoy a 42-24 rebounding edge on the Chargers (19-7). Dory Hines grabbed a game-high nine boards and added 14 points for the Vikings, who’ll play Clinton for the 2-A regional crown today at 3.

Ridge Smith led three Northwood players in double-figure scoring with 12 points.

Terry Sanford turned what was a tight battle into a convincing victory in a 67-58 win over New Hanover in the 4-A Eastern Regional boys’ basketball semifinals Friday.

Trailing by two heading into the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs outscored the Wildcats, 23-12, in the final 8 minutes.

Chris Wilson led all scorers with 35 for Sanford, while Jordan Vann added 11.

The Bulldogs did most of their damage at the free throw line, shooting 23-of-28 from the stripe. New Hanover was awarded just nine free throw attempts.

Riverside will meet Terry Sanford in the 4-A Eastern Regional finals after a 59-49 victory over Millbrook on Friday.

T.J. Warren led four Pirates in double-figure scoring with 13 points.

Donzell Hill had a double-double for the Wildcats with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
