The fate of the East Carolina baseball team will be shaped by the leadership of its veterans and the performance of its many newcomers.

The disappointing finish to last season came from an ECU team with most of its roles defined in the field, on the mound and in the batting order at the start of the campaign. With a new season, however, comes a handful of new faces set to take on big responsibilities around a small core of veterans.


At almost every spot on the diamond is more than one player hoping to be the main man at his position.
