BUIES CREEK — Zach Wright led off the top of the ninth inning with a single up the middle and later scored the game-winning run on Phillip Clark's double down the left field line during East Carolina's 3-2 victory over Campbell on Tuesday.
Pirate relief pitcher Seth Simmons was nearly unhittable en route to earning the victory, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk with six strikeouts in three innings pitched.
The Pirates scored the game's first run in the top of the fourth.
