East Carolina is hoping its season of streaks continues tonight.
After going win-loss to open the men’s basketball season, the Pirates, who host Southern Methodist tonight at 7 in Minges Coliseum, have won three consecutive games, lost three in a row, won five in a row and lost six straight before last Saturday’s 73-66 victory at Alabama-Birmingham. Notching that long-anticipated first Conference USA win has ECU (10-10, 1-6 C-USA) hopeful that another win streak might be in its future.
“We take a lot of confidence from (the win over the Blazers),” said Pirate senior forward Darrius Morrow, who scored a game-high 24 points versus UAB. “We’re going to take that win and just try to keep it going. ... We need to get a streak going to get us right back in the middle of everything (in the league race).”
